2017 Body Paint Competition
Winning Prize: $500, gift bag
Runner-Up: $100 , gift bag
3rd Place: $50 , gift bag
The 2017 West Coast Haunters Convention Body Art Competition will select only a maximum of 10 body painters for this year’s showcase on a first come; first serve basis.
The theme must be related to something Haunted ,Halloween OR Classic Horror Films.
The $25 registration fee must be made upon acceptance in order to participate in this competition.
No promotions of any sort are permitted until this fee is paid and all registration is complete.
Artists must provide a title to their work for the judging and be prepared to make a brief statement about your inspiration during the awards presentation.
This competition will be juried by industry specific judges and special celebrity guests.
Artists must bring their own model for the West Coast Haunter’s Convention Body Art Competition.
Artists and models must be 18+ years of age. Artists and/or models are encouraged to bring a change of clothes, water, and food. Bottled water will be provided but it is highly recommended to be sure to have refreshments especially for models.
Each team will have up to 6 hours onsite to complete body paint. Schedule for artist start times will be posted through email and meeting notifications.
All artistic techniques from airbrush, brush and sponge will be allowed in this competition. Only professional face and body painting products, makeup and paints are permitted. Competitors must provide their own products and equipment including brushes, towels, water buckets, models thong, etc. Prosthetics are allowed but should not exceed 20 -25% of the total piece. At least 80% of the body must be covered in paint or prosthetic. Other wardrobe is limited to headdress only.
No full nudity is permitted. A thong, T-bar or a G-strip (tape) will be required, depending on your models preference. Female models must wear nipple covers or pasties.
Models will need to remain in the artist area and inside the ballroom itself. Cover will be required in the lobby area.
Both male and female models may participate.
Props are permitted during the floor and stage performances. All competitors are responsible for packing up and cleaning their work stations once complete. Any undesirable behavior, disregard for rules or judges/event coordinators may result in losing points or disqualification.
